Warsaw: Warsaw off ART
October 1 - October 4
WARSAW OFF ART
the largest independent festival of the best independent art in Warsaw
The beginning of October will mark the start of the third edition of Warsaw off ART, the largest independent festival of the best independent art in the capital. The two previous editions proved to be a success and arose great interest among the gallery-goers, collectors and art lovers. This grassroots initiative has already permanently entered the list of the most important, cyclical, artistic events in Warsaw. On October 1st to 4th we will have the opportunity to participate in the remarkable celebration of open studios and meeting artists. This year, we noted a greater number of applications and a great interest in the event, therefore the number of participating artists will be larger. Las year the initiative of introducing the work of independent Warsaw artists and studios was openen to artists from all over the country. This year, thanks to the great interest, it went far beyond borders. Apart from artists from the central, north and south of Poland, an artist will appear, who will come to the festival from Norway. The uniqueness and international character of this year’s edition is particularly emphasized by the fact that it will host a group of respected Czech artists. During the four days, we will present nearly thirty artists whose approach to the matter and content of the work follows all schemas and styles, who, constantly cross the boundaries of conventions, techniques and imagination, thus proving with their creativity that “You can never go too far in art. You have to go too far in art. This is the rule. If you don’t really go too far, then you should stop. ”* Famous and recognized artists will stand next to artists making their first steps on their artistic path. There will be power, expression, humour, an unconventional approach to all techniques, from painting, through installations, performances and sculpture.
The accompanying events, exhibitions and performances have become a permanent part of the Warsaw off ART repertoire. This year, by extending the duration of the event from two to four days, acting regardless of institutions and any rules, we will make every point of the program unique. From exhibitions, through accompanying events, to the initiative of meetings with artists in their studios and art zones, the event will be special. The Warsaw off ART initiative is organised by artists themselves. At the end, by quoting the perverse slogan of the third edition, “Cancelled, Postponed, Disabled”, we reassure you that we are not going to cancel, shift or marginalize the show. We are going to give it to you in a large dose. It will happen! Welcome!
We start on October 1 at 5p.m. The 3rd Independent Edition of Warsaw off ART will be opened by the Czech Art Vernissage at our Festival Center, which this year is the TA3 Artistic House. There will be power, fun, performance. Then we will have fun together at an afterparty in the Warsaw Old Town.
During the consecutive three days – October 2nd -4th – we invite you to visit our artists in their studios and art zones, participate in performances and accompanying events and, above all, to have great fun together, with the best independent art.
